Education Assistance Many of the children in Golden Valley are far behind in school. This is not because they lack intelligence or potential, but because they are carrying the heavy weight of trauma, exhaustion, and the constant feeling of being unsafe. When a child never truly feels secure, it becomes almost impossible to focus, learn, and keep up in the classroom. To help bridge this gap, we started an afternoon education program where small groups of children are brought in for extra lessons. These children are incredibly eager to learn and full of determination, but they often lack the basic foundations needed to succeed in school. This program gives them a safe and supportive space where they receive one-on-one assistance and the opportunity to learn without stress or fear weighing on them. Whether it’s Maths, English, or Afrikaans, we are committed to helping them build the skills they need and giving them the best possible chance to one day graduate and create a brighter future for themselves.
